چکیده

ABSTRACT This paper describes the Active Response GIS (AR/GIS) for resource planning and land allocation deliberation. AR/GIS is an integrated system which combines GIS and electronic meeting software. This combination provides the voting, information organization, and brainstorming of an electronic meeting system, and supports interaction with geographic data sets. The AR/GIS system can improve efficiency ofland-resource deliberations, and offers land managers a means to interact more closely with geographic data.

LAGA: A Software for Landscape Allocation using Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, Landscape Allocation using Genetic Algorithm (LAGA), a spatial multi-objective land use optimization software is introduced. The software helps in searching for optimal land use when multiple objectives such as suitability, area, cohesion and edge density indices are simultaneously involved. LAGA is a flexible and easy to use genetic algorithm-based software for optimizing the sp...

A GIS-based integrative approach for land use optimization in a semi-arid watershed

The proper use of natural resources can preserve these valuable assets. In line with the management of natural resources, land use optimization can be highly useful. The aim of the present study is to propose an appropriate integrative model for optimized allocation of lands for surface runoff and sediment load minimization and net income maximization in Bayg watershed, Iran. In this study, fiv...

A GEP-based spatial decision support system for multisite land use allocation

Multisite LandUse Allocation Problem (MLUA) refers to the problem of allocatingmore than one land use type in an area. MLUA problem is one of the truly NP Complete (combinatorial optimization) problems. To cope with this type of problems, intelligent techniques such as genetic algorithms, and simulated annealing, have been used. Research in the area of Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS) fo...

Land use planning for land management using the geographic information system (GIS) in the Loumir watershed of Guilan province in northern Iran

Land use planning is a science that determines the type of land use through studying the ecological character of the land as well as its socio-economic structure. It is possible to plan for the appropriate use of the land and to enhance the present management of the land use by utilizing Geographical Information System (GIS). To this end, our investigators identified and took steps toward devel...

A Gis-based Multicriteria Approaches to Land Use Suitability Assessment and Allocation

ABSTRACT. ––Land suitability assessment in a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment is formulated as a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. Different MCDM approaches are developed to combine factors in a suitability analysis of land for potential land uses. These MCDM approaches are used to develop a generic suitability index. Approaches include both qualitative and quantitat...
